Wedding Reception

Ladybug checking to be sure her PopPop's hair is just right.
Granddaughter checking on her grandfather.....Ladybug is feeding him small pieces of bread she has carefully torn into little pieces. Can you see the fork in her hand?

These pictures of Ladybug and her PopPop are priceless to me. How lucky she is to have a greatgrandfather....and she adores him as he does her. All weekend she had him twisted around her little finger and it was in his lap she slept away during the wedding ceremony. We were sitting together eating during the reception. Ladybug has brought him a second roll and is pinching it into tiny pieces which she will carefully place into his mouth with a fork. After finishing feeding him, she takes him by the hand and leads him all around the room....and he is her willing slave. These girls have had three great grandmothers and one great grandfather. I was Ladybug's age when the only grandfather I had passed away. I guess that's why I found it so touching that she has had this chance to know her greatgrandfather.

Princess Flower dancing with her little sister Ladybug.

Dreaming of the day she'll be the bride.

Our son and his wife....aren't they a beautiful couple!!
The Father of the bride giving a toast.
The happy Mother of the bride....she was everywhere visiting and totally enjoying her daughter's wedding.

The wedding reception was held at a winery nearby. It was a beautiful rustic log building set in rolling hills with the vineyards surrounding it. A wonderful setting to begin the celebration of the union of two in love.

I don't have too many pictures of it...I was busy enjoying myself talking with old friends and meeting new ones.

The Wedding

The bride's baby sister.
The bride's big sister and Mom to 4 of my granddaughters.

The bride with her Father.

I was able to get a few pictures while everyone was coming down the aisle. I passed off Dragonfly to a family friend sitting behind me so I could use my camera. We were also trying to be sure Dragonfly didn't see her Mommy when she came down the aisle and pitch a fit wanting her. All the kids made it down the aisle without any mishaps except Ladybug didn't want to stand up front and went to sit with her great-grandfather, PopPop. It wasn't long before she was asleep....and I know her PopPop was having trouble knowing whether to watch his granddaughter getting married or his little great-granddaughter snuggled in his arms peacefully sleeping. Both were beautiful.

Granny Nanny for the Wedding Weekend

Here are some of the bride and groom's nieces practicing for their big moment as flower girls.
You may recognize Princess Flower and Butterfly.

The girls are working on their dance steps.
Dragonfly heading down the practice aisle.
None of the girls wanted to play the part of the groom but they loved playing the bride. What do you think of the veil?? Dragonfly shared her blanket for the occasion.

I spent most of the weekend as a nanny helping out where I could keeping up with the girls and allowing their Mom to enjoy her sister's wedding and all the fun activities. These pictures came while I watched our four girls and the groom's two nieces who were 8 and 5 during the bridesmaid luncheon. The girls had a wonderful time together and tried to figure out what their relationship to each other would be after their aunt and uncle married.

If you're wondering where Ladybug is, she actually slept through the entire afternoon even with all the laughter.
